Teen alcohol addiction - Is there any hope for a teenager who wants to get his or her life straightened out? Its very interesting that I find myself writing about something that not only is commonsense, but what is more, something that every one knows about in general but may not in particular. Alcohol use among teenagers is a serious problem and is responsible for death and injury in automobile accidents, physical and emotional disability, deterioration of academic performances, aggressive behavior that causes a number of other sociological problems in families and among friends. It is also the primary cause of criminal behavior and a leading cause of broken marriages. They are both illegal for teens - illicit drugs being totally illegal and alcohol being illegal depending on age. Just what is addiction? Addiction is a physiological dependence on something. It is both physical and psychological in nature. When you are addicted you literally need whatever it is that feeds that addiction. Addiction sneaks up on you. People who are addicted often dont see that they have a problem. They think everyone else is the problem. Addiction is terribly destructive. It hurts you and those who care about you. It is not easy to overcome but once you have accepted it as a problem in your life you can get help.
